The Most Feared Man in Italy

"The Most Feared Man in Italy" was published in Gandy Dancer Literary Magazine. In this creative nonfiction essay, I try to unravel my great uncle Arturo Bocchini - who was head of the secret police in Italy during World War II. I examine my family's relationship to him, how he must have thought and felt, and what really happened on November 20th, 1940.
